The Industrial Systems Institute successfully organized the 2nd Workshop on Smart and Circular Cities – WSACC in the context of the 2023 IEEE International Smart Cities Conference that took place in Bucharest, Romania on September 24-27, 2023. The workshop is organized in collaboration with the IEEE Special Technical Committee on Smart and Circular Cities.

During the workshop synergies were exploited with projects RRRemaker and Sustainable. With RRRemaker project partners Industrial Systems Institute, BEIA and Circular Economy Innovation attending WSACC, the workshop presented a good opportunity for common work and exchange of ideas on the project progress and relevant algorithm development. Furthermore a Sustainable project paper by Industrial Systems Institute researchers dealt with the issue of parameter dimensionality reduction on IoT monitoring data that can be applicable in IoT deployments in the farming sector.

The workshop provided a wider opportunity for networking and synergies in the Smart and Circular Cities domain that represents one of the areas of interest of the Institute.
