Dr. Christos Katsiropoulos holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineering and two MSc’s in Aeronautics Engineering and Polymer Science, all from the University of Patras, Greece. He is also an MBA holder and a Material Scientist (2nd diploma). He collaborates with the Industrial Systems Institute of the Athena Research and Innovation Center since 2021. His research interests focus on aerospace materials and processes with emphasis in polymers and composites; life cycle assessment (LCA) and life cycle costing (LCC) modelling of composite materials manufacturing and joining processes; sustainability and recycling of composites; thermoplastics processing; adhesive bonding of polymers and composite materials; multifunctional and self healing composite materials; damping of materials; graphene enhanced composite materials. He has more than 20 years of experience in the implementation, development and management of European and national (Greek) funded projects and has been involved in over 15 projects as member of the project team, technical manager or project manager. He has over 70 scientific publications including papers published in journals, book chapters and conference proceedings (Google Scholar number of citations 312, h-index 9 as of Apr 2021). He is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Patras as well as a senior research and development engineer associated with the University of Patras and the public and private sector. He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
