Dr. Despoina Antonakaki

Dr. Despoina Antonakaki is a Research Engineer and cybersecurity researcher with extensive experience in social network analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and large-scale data analytics. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Crete and has participated in multiple European research and innovation projects, including CONCORDIA, EUNITY, ECCO, INTACT, and DETANGLE. Her research focuses on online social networks, bot and malware detection, sentiment and topic analysis, misinformation, and cross-platform digital discourse analysis using AI and NLP techniques. She has collaborated with leading academic and industrial institutions, including the University of Groningen (UMCG), Telefonica Research, Universitat de Barcelona, the University of Cyprus, FORTH, and the Technical University of Crete. Dr. Antonakaki has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals and international conferences on Twitter analysis, online political discourse, bot detection, cybersecurity, and machine learning applications. She also has significant experience in software engineering, proposal writing, EU project management, and supervision of postgraduate and PhD students
