Dr. Thanasis Kotzakolios

Dr. Thanasis Kotzakolios is a Mechanical & Aeronautics engineer. He obtained his PhD in the area of dynamic and high strain rate phenomena in composites in 2011. His research areas are simulation of composites, multi-physics simulations (fluid-structure interaction), structural integrity and damage tolerance of composite structures and certification/qualification of aerospace structures. His research has been supported by the European Commission and other organizations. As a researcher, he has worked in 14 research projects funded by European Commission, Greek National projects and private contracts. He has over 18 publications in International Journals and Articles. He is a reviewer of several international journals and conference proceedings. Throughout his career, he has lectured at University of Patras, Department of Mechanical Engineering & Aeronautics the Damage Tolerance module.
