The NIS2 Directive, adopted by the European Union in December 2022, aims to achieve a high common level of cybersecurity across the Union. Entities that fall short of NIS2 requirements may face increased scrutiny from regulators and could be excluded from certain markets or partnerships. NIS2 complements a number of initiatives that have been introduced to EU Member States during the last years, including the CRA and the CSA, aiming to enhance cybersecurity resilience and data protection; nevertheless, the actual implementation and reinforcement of these regulations is not an easy task. The challenges towards the efficient implementation of EU Legislation on Cybersecurity and National Cybersecurity Strategies vary. First, there is the fragmentation Across Member States; National Cybersecurity Agencies lack the expertise, staffing, or infrastructure to supervise and enforce cybersecurity laws effectively; and cost is also a critical factor, as SMEs face significant financial and operational burdens to comply with NIS2 and other requirements. DETANGLE aims to address the aforementioned challenges, offering a set of highly innovative services in a cost-effective manner, integrated in one solution offered to a variety of different stakeholders, namely: (i) an Integrated Incident Management Platform; (ii) a NIS2 Compliance Tracker; (iii) a Cybersecurity Collaboration Hub; (iv) a Cybersecurity Certification Support Framework and (v) a CRA Supervision & Enforcement Toolkit. It will make sure to build on existing, mature solutions to deploy these offerings in an easy-to-use, efficient, and cost-effective manner, supported by trainings, documentation and events that will allow for thorough awareness raising and will ensure the offerings' full exploitation potential towards a resilient EU.
