Alexandros-Apostolos A. Boulogeorgos received the Diploma degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and the Ph.D. degree in wireless communications from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) in 2012 and 2016, respectively. As of 2022, he serves as an Assistant Professor in Wireless Telecommunications at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the University of Western Macedonia, Greece, where he leads the SIRIUS group. As of 2025, we serves as associate faculty with ATHENA research center. He has worked on several research projects that have been funded by the European Commission or from national resources. Indicative examples are the FP7 SOLDER project, the THALES MIMOSA, THALES SOCONET, H2020 enCOMPASS, H2020 TERRANOVA, IRIDA, H2020-5GPPP ARIADNE, HE TALON, SNS-JU NANCY, H.F.R.I. MINOAS, CLIO, and EDF AVALON. His work in the aforementioned projects spanned from research assistant to project coordinator. He has (co-)authored more than 160 technical papers, which were published in scientific journals, presented at prestigious international conferences, and become parts of scientific books as chapters, or technical reports. He holds four (2 national, 1 European and 1 International) patents. His current research interests span the area of wireless communications and networks with emphasis in high frequency communications, intelligent communication systems, ultra-dense wireless networks, integrated communications and sensing, optical wireless communications, and signal processing and communications for biomedical applications. Together with his team, they strive to achieve scientific breakthroughs and, as a second step, create an interface between their fundamental research and applied innovation. He has been involved as a member of organizational and technical program committees in several IEEE and non-IEEE conferences and served as a reviewer in various IEEE journals and conferences. He has an IEEE Senior Member and a Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece. I currently serve as an Editor for IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS, an Associate Editor for the Frontier in Communications and Networks, and for the MDPI~Telecom. He has participated as a guest editor in the organization of a number of special issues in IEEE and non-IEEE journals. Finally, he belongs to the list of Stanford with the 2% top researchers.
