Panagiotis Hadjidoukas received his Diploma, M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Patras (Greece) in 1998, 2001 and 2003 respectively. In 2004, he was postdoctoral researcher at INRIA/Rennes (France), while from 2006 to 2012 he worked as visiting Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Ioannina, Greece. From 2012 to 2018 he worked as a Senior Assistant and Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering (D-MAVT) of ETH Zurich, and then joined IBM Research Zurich as Visiting Scientist (2018-2021). He is currently an Associate Professor in Parallel Computing at the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department, University of Patras, Greece.
He has participated in several international research and computational projects (PRACE, INCITE). His research interests include High Performance Computing, Runtime Systems for Parallel Computing, Parallel Numerical Optimization and Uncertainty Quantification, and recently Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. He was a recipient of the 2013 ACM Gordon Bell prize and finalist for the same prize in 2015.
