Tafseer Akhtar is post doctoral fellow in Industrial Systems Institute, ATHENA Research
Center, Patras, Greece. He received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Information and
Communication Technologies at the University of Vigo, Spain, in (2019–2023) focused on
Radio Resource Management for hyper-dense 5G networks and an Master of Technology in
Cyber Security from NIT Kurukshetra, where he analyzed vulnerabilities in smart power grids.
With expertise in 5G architecture and cybersecurity, he has been part of impactful EU-funded
projects like NextPerception (designing distributed edge/cloud frameworks) and FACENDO 4.0
(integrating private 5G/Wi-Fi into industrial systems), while working for anti-DDoS solutions
and frequency-hopping protocols for secure tactical networks. His industry experience includes
software development roles at Infosys, building Java/Spring-based systems for fraud detection
and e-commerce. He has authored many publications in IEEE/Springer journals on 5G
resource management and cyber-physical security. A Marie Curie Fellow (2018–2020) and
IEEE member, he combines technical mastery in Python, Java, and Game theory with fluency
in English and Hindi.
His research interests include but are not limited to 6G Networks, Radio Resource, SelfSovereign Identity Management, Post Quantum Cryptography, Machine Learning, Game
Theory, Distributed Learning, Network Coded Cooperation and Network Security.
