CV in Brief
Mr. Georgios Salagiannis comes from Astakos, Greece. He is currently pursuing a PhD on the subject of “Power Electronic Converters for interfacing voltage sources with Microgrids” at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Patras, Greece, where he also got his diploma (2021). He is with the Laboratory of Electromechanical Energy Conversion (LEMEC). As of January 2026, he is also a member of the Industrial Systems Institute of Athena Research Center. His main research interests include Power Electronics, high gain step-up DC-DC Converters for RES and ESS integration, Multiport Converters, DC Microgrids, Systematic and Algorithmic Converter Design, Machine Learning and its applications on Power Electronics. He was granted the "Andreas Mentzelopoulos Foundation" grant during the first 3 years of his PhD research. Additionally, he has worked on projects concerning electrical power system design for tethered drones and machine learning. Prior to starting his PhD, he worked for a year and a half as a Research & Development engineer at Raycap S.A. in the field of telecom power supply design. Also, he has completed an internship at the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator. Mr. Salagiannis is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and he has knowledge of the Greek, English and French Languages.
