CV in Brief

My name is Alessia Mengoni, a biomedical engineer with experience in tissue engineering, bioreactor design, and regenerative medicine. I have contributed to several European Horizon projects, taking part in international secondments at InSyBio (Patras, Greece), SUPSI (Lugano, Switzerland), Eden Tech (Paris, France), and Ghent University (Belgium). I obtained both my Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin, developing a solid background in biomaterials, molecular dynamics and image analysis. During my master’s thesis at Cellex Expansion Devices s.r.l., I developed Python algorithms for the analysis of biomimetic scaffolds and contributed to the in silico modeling of bone structures. My research interests lie in the intersection of computational modeling and experimental bioengineering, aiming to integrate data-driven approaches with biological validation for regenerative applications. I am passionate about the engineering field as much as the experimental one, having worked both on computational models such as digital twins and within biological laboratories. I would like to continue pursuing this duality between modeling and experimentation, combining analytical precision with hands-on scientific research.
