CV in Brief
My name is Nikolina Ntinou, a postgraduate in chemistry and neurobiology, currently employed by the Industrial Systems Institute at the Athena Research Center, contributing to the European projects “SUSTAINABLE” & “REGENERATION”. I completed my undergraduate degree in Chemistry at the University of Patras, followed by a Master’s in Neurosciences through the Athens’ International Master Program in Neuroscience, affiliated with the Network of European Neuroscience Schools (NENS), at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. My master’s thesis, conducted at the Cell Signaling and Molecular Pharmacology laboratory at the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, focused on the effects of chronic stress on hippocampal plasticity impairments in Alzheimer’s disease. As a postgraduate, I had the opportunity to join the M3B group at the PolitoBIOMed Lab of the Polytechnic University of Turin within the European project “VIRTUOUS”. Under the supervision of Prof. Marco A. Deriu, I collaborated with researchers from diverse scientific disciplines and expanded my expertise. More recently, I was awarded a scholarship for a 6-month internship at the M3B group of the Polytechnic University of Turin, working in collaboration with Prof. Maurizio Giustetto’s scientific team at the Department of Neurosciences “Rita Levi Montalcini” at the University of Turin. During this period, I engaged in research on the molecular mechanisms underlying rare neurodevelopmental disorders, with a focus on CDKL5 deficiency disorder. I am a native Greek speaker and fluent in both English and Italian. I am a highly motivated individual and I enjoy acquiring and implementing new knowledge and skills in scientific challenges, always fostering a team-oriented approach.
