Prof. Dr. Evangelos Chytis is a Professor of Accounting at the Department of Accounting and Finance, University of Ioannina , where he has served since 2008 in progressively advancing academic roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Ioannina, an M.Sc. in Banking and Finance from the Hellenic Open University, and a B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Piraeus. He has also postgraduate studies in Business Administration at Universität Paderborn in Germany. With more than 15 years of professional experience outside academia, Professor Chytis has held senior roles including Chief Financial Officer at the Athens Stock Exchange Group, Senior Accountant in listed companies, and Investment Evaluator at the Greek Ministry of Economy and Finance. His dual background in academia and industry enhances his teaching and research with applied insights and real-world relevance. His teaching portfolio includes Financial Accounting, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Accounting Information Systems (AIS/ERP), and Corporate Taxation. His research focuses on international financial reporting and disclosure, corporate taxation and policy, corporate governance, and the digital transformation of accounting systems. Professor Chytis has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed international journals and actively participates in international academic conferences and collaborative research networks. His work bridges theory and practice, contributing to both scholarly discourse and policy-making in the fields of accounting and finance.
