Prof. George Avgouropoulos

George Avgouropoulos is a Professor of Energy & Chemical Technologies at the Department of Materials Science, Faculty of Natural Sciences at University of Patras. He is a Chemical Engineer from University of Patras. He holds a MSc in Energy and Environment and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Patras supported by grants from FORTH/ICE-HT. He has developed extensive research activity through numerous National and European programs in nanomaterials, hydrogen energy technologies and energy storage devices and has published/presented >150 papers in international journals and scientific conferences, receiving honors for his work and more than 5000 citations (H-index = 32). He has given numerous invited lectures and interviews for hydrogen technologies and the energy transition. He has been included in the list of the world's leading scientists for the year 2022, as published in 2023 by Stanford University. He has been a member of the commission for the creation of the national strategy for hydrogen, a reviewer in 35 international journals, a member of scientific committees of conferences and a member of evaluation committees of national/international research projects.
