“Connected Smart Cities for Greece 2.0” is a flagship Greek research project to create an IoT platform that stands out from the rest, offering an extensive analysis of the current infrastructure of cities in Greece. Through the framework of “Flagship actions in interdisciplinary scientific areas with special interest for the connection to the productive fabric”, the “Connected Smart Cities for Greece 2.0” project aims to unify the respective vertical implementations and their already existing models. SmartC4G_2.0 is a subproject of this big national project, focusing on implementing a digital twin of a school building complex located within the University of Patras campus. This Digital Twin will be produced via an IoT infrastructure installed within these school buildings, providing real-time measurements of a series of parameters related to energy and environmental conditions, and also a digitization process of the buildings that will produce their accurate 3D counterparts. The goal will be to provide, for the first time in Greece, a digital replica of an educational building to the research community, along with the related datasets. This will facilitate further research concerning energy efficiency, comfort and health aspects in an educational setting by the Greek Research community.
